We are happy to announce our collaboration with Nepal Food, Food Networks and The Bazaar, to commence with a new mission to beat the Covid food crisis in Nepal.

Nepal is hit hard by the second wave of COVID-19. Thousands have lost their job and cannot buy sufficient food for their families. SOLIDARITY FARMER now engages COVID-jobless in the food production on local farms, COVID-community kitchens in the cities cook and serve the food to those in need.

Feed the needy through solidarity farming

The second phase of COVID-19 in Nepal has presented challenges that the country was not prepared for. Thousands of people, especially daily wage earners have lost their jobs due to the lockdown. Where there is a crisis, there is always also an opportunity for goodness to arise. Many individuals and organizations have risked their lives and come out on the ground to serve those in need, in whatever capacity they can. As pillars and champions of food security in Nepal, it is hence our duty to work towards a solution that creates an environment for farmers to grow more food without any constraints, multiply productivity in these farms by creating jobs for the jobless, and distribute the grown food among community kitchens that are serving free food. With the right amount of funds and support we can create an ecosystem of food security and a sustainable chain of locally produced food to serve the locals in need.

How does it work?

Kheti food has enabled "feed the needy mission" on its platform, this mission can be accessed by everybody across Nepal. People who wish to be a part of this mission can directly log in to Kheti platform select “I would like to donate food to the needy who have been badly affected due to Covid”, enter the amount they would like to donate or purchase food for the needy at the time of checkout. For customers who are directly purchasing from Kheti food can hand over the cash to the delivery personnel or pay using digital platforms. Others can pay using fonepay, eSewa or bank transfer.

Kheti will allocate fresh fruits and vegetables worth an equal amount and distribute the same to Nepal Food. Nepal food ensures food preparation and distribution to the needy. We follow WHO standards and guidelines for food preparation and distribution.

How to donate?

Method 1: Purchase fruits and vegetables from Kheti food and add the money you would like purchase food for the needy. We will collect the money from you at the time of delivery.

Method 2: If you wish to purchase food for the needy without doing any transaction through kheti, connect with our customer care team on Mobile number or write to us at solidarityfarmer@dvexcellus.com, We will provide the credentials to transfer the funds.

Method 3: If you wish to transfer funds from outside Nepal, connect with our customer care team on Mobile number or write to us at solidarityfarmer@dvexcellus.com, We will provide the credentials to transfer the funds.
