Mr. Surya Sunel has been involved with kheti food since January 2020. He signed up as a farmer and not only started receiving products and services including farm tools, modern machinery, advisory, and training from KHETI FARM, but also started selling his produce through the KHETI FARM App. Ever since he has been able to benefit greatly from the platform and expresses his gratitude.

On March 24 2020, Nepal Government issued nationwide lockdown and following the different stages the restrictions were made stronger prohibiting travels, border closures and closure of non-essential services. Though the groceries were under the industries that the Nepal Government then allowed to operate, most of the farmers were not able to sell their produce. The grocery wholesalers and middlemen were importing produce and distributing through their channels while farmers had no way to sell their produce to end consumers.This resulted in big loss to the agricultural sector and this issue was even covered by many national news outlets. 

Even during such adversity, few farmers were actually able to sell their products, and did so at a price higher than what they would receive otherwise, during the lockdown. Those farmers were the farmers in the KHETI FARM network. Surya Sunel was one of those farmers.
